Trail in the Towers of Bonsucesso – Teresópolis (19/11/2024)

Bonsucesso towers are located in the Três Picos State Park (PETP), in the municipality of Teresópolis, State of Rio de Janeiro. They form a set of three “towers” that make up a vertical wall with more than half kilometer. The best known towers are the larger tower, the central tower and the iron. The Bonsucesso Towers Trail was held on 19/11/2024, taking advantage of the holidays of one of the friends who live in Ireland. It is an intermediate trail, with scale, closed -wood stretches and others of sun exposure. We started the route leaving the car about 500 meters before the start of the trail, in a yellow house with paid parking. It is recommended to ask questions, if possible, with the local residents. Very important to be aware of the trail, as there is a fork with a large stone as a reference. Advance on the right side; On the left side, you will cross the water, but this is not the right way. It is recommended to use their own trail sneakers, as there are very slippery places, especially if it has been rained in previous days. Take water and light foods, avoiding carrying a lot of weight, as there are parts of the climb that can be narrow. Before reaching the iron, there is a passage through a slit (not the same slit mentioned in the video). This slit is much tighter, and it will be necessary to climb a stone, but with the help of friends, it is possible to overcome it without major difficulties. The trail is excellent for those who want to disconnect, as there is no cell phone signal. We didn’t reach the top of the central tower, because the time started to win us and decided to stop at the loose stone. It is important to observe the weather conditions; If the sky begins to click, come back as soon as possible. It would be very complicated to return to the trail in case of rain, but fortunately everything worked out. The place is wonderful, and I hope to come back more often, better physically prepared.
