Day 2 – Path of Santiago de Compostela – Matosinhos to Vila do Conde

In this episode we started in Matosinhos and go to Vila do Conde. We left Hotel Prim & Proper in Porto and went from Uber to Leça Lighthouse in Matosinhos (where we finished the route the day before). For months we had hired a suitcase service for each stretch and we already made everything tied and scheduled (company Pilbeo). All decisions have pros and cons, it diminishes freedom, but it gains safely, as the Portuguese path of the Portuguese coast is the fastest growing route according to the Pilgrim workshop (where you register for issuing the distance certificate and compostela) increasing the chances of not finding vacancies in hotels. The path was predominantly in well -signposted wooden walkways, with many places to eat and drink. Little or almost nothing shadow area. Excerpts where the walkway is under construction forced us to walk the beach. We arrived in Vila do Conde with a surprise: an orchestra presenting a presentation in the city square. Before we staying at Hotel Brazão, we stopped eating and drinking in the square listening to the orchestra. A gift from chance! Buen Camino!
